TASK Sponsors More Than 500 Students for the Student Character Development and Motivation Programme (Summer Camp 2023)

Embark on a transformative three-day, two-night journey at KEDA Resort, Bendang Man, Sik, Kedah, through the Student Development and Self-Motivation Programme for Schools in Kedah (Summer Camp 2023), organised for the first time with sponsorship from Tabung Amanah Sultan Kedah (TASK). Organised in collaboration with the Kedah State Education Department (JPNK), PIBKS Kedah, and HBK Berkat Trading, the initiative brought together 588 outstanding Form Four students from schools throughout the State of Kedah, selected through Series 1 to Series 7.

The programme was designed to equip students with the confidence, resilience, and clarity needed to pursue meaningful career aspirations aligned with their interests and strengths. Through immersive activities such as team-building exercises, leadership workshops, jungle trekking, and survival cooking, participants developed essential life skills that will support their future success.

TASK's commitment to nurturing Kedah's brightest young talents is reflected in its dedication to developing future leaders who are well prepared to drive positive change. Through its collaboration with JPNK, PIBKS Kedah, and HBK Berkat Trading, TASK not only enriches students' educational journeys but also contributes to strengthening the socio-economic development of the State of Kedah. Together, we continue to empower students to excel academically and make meaningful contributions to the dynamic communities and future prosperity of Kedah.

A look back at the engaging and enjoyable ice-breaking session during the Summer Camp. Participants actively took part in every activity, creating an energetic and impactful learning experience.

Self-Discovery Module – Group Formation

Participants were grouped according to their interests and tasked with designing a group emblem using mahjong paper. Each group presented the meaning and theme behind its emblem, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and unity. The completed emblems became treasured symbols throughout the programme and were carefully preserved by each group.

Achievement Flag

During the team-building activity, participants took on the Achievement Flag challenge, where they had to raise a flag using PVC pipes, connectors, ropes, and teamwork. Each group planned and built the tallest possible pipe structure, with the flag at its peak. Leadership played an important role in guiding each team and ensuring that the ropes were tied securely.

Career Aspirations

This Learning in Groups (LDK) session was designed to raise awareness of the importance of having clear career aspirations. Participants were grouped according to their chosen professions, such as doctors and accountants.

Participants attended a Tazkirah (Islamic motivational reflection) session that emphasised the importance of performing daily prayers and reinforcing their significance in everyday life.

Skills Training

Participants took part in invigorating morning exercise sessions in preparation for the Jungle Trekking and Survival Cooking activities.

𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠

Participants navigated challenging jungle trails while taking part in team-building activities at the summit, carrying their group emblems throughout the journey as a symbol of unity and responsibility.

𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐟

Each group prepared a simple meal using basic ingredients, demonstrating teamwork, planning, and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Water Confidence Training

This activity aimed to build participants' confidence in a water environment while introducing them to basic life-saving techniques.

The Flying Fox activity challenged participants to overcome their fears and build self-confidence.

Archery Adventure

Participants learned the values of patience, focus, and precision through practical archery activities.

Straw Power served as the final team challenge, testing leadership, collaboration, and communication. The activity highlighted the importance of clear leadership and effective teamwork in achieving shared goals.
