Preliminary Discussion on Animal Welfare Initiatives in Langkawi

14 May 2026 – Tabung Amanah Sultan Kedah (TASK) held a preliminary discussion with Mr Mohd Hamri Abidin, President of the Langkawi Municipal Council Tourism City (MPLBP), and David from the Langkawi Animal Shelter & Welfare Society at Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi.

 

The discussion focused on potential collaboration and TASK’s support for animal welfare initiatives, particularly in addressing the issue of uncontrolled stray dogs in several areas of Langkawi, which has raised concerns among local residents and visitors.

 

It is hoped that this meeting will serve as an important first step towards implementing more structured and effective initiatives to address animal welfare issues while enhancing the well-being and safety of the Langkawi community.
