TASK-Sponsored Nutrition Rehabilitation Programme for Malnourished Children (PPKZM)

Tabung Amanah Sultan Kedah (TASK), in collaboration with the Kedah State Health Department, implemented the Nutrition Rehabilitation Programme for Malnourished Children (Program Pemulihan Kanak-Kanak Kekurangan Zat Makanan – PPKZM). The programme aims to reduce the incidence of underweight children by at least 20% among children aged six months to six years from low-income families identified through government health clinics in the districts of Baling, Bandar Baharu, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Kubang Pasu, Kulim, Langkawi, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, and Yan.

In addition to providing essential food baskets, the collaboration between TASK and the Kedah State Health Department ensures comprehensive support through childhood immunisation, child healthcare services, and nutrition education. This holistic approach addresses both the immediate nutritional needs of children and the underlying socio-economic factors contributing to malnutrition.

As part of its commitment to community welfare, TASK allocated RM75,600.00 to provide full cream milk powder and multivitamin supplements to 210 beneficiaries between December 2023 and May 2024. This initiative reflects TASK's dedication to building a healthier future for the children of Kedah and serves as an example of successful collaboration in improving the nutritional well-being of underprivileged children across the State.
