Sayangi Anak Kedah (SAYAK) Programme: Collaboration with the Kedah State Education Department to Empower Students with Special Educational Needs (MBPK)

Tabung Amanah Sultan Kedah (TASK) actively collaborates with the Kedah State Education Department (JPNK) to empower Students with Special Educational Needs (Murid Berkeperluan Pendidikan Khas – MBPK) through a range of specialised educational initiatives.

 

One of the key initiatives is the “Jom Jelajah Ilmu 2024” programme, which aims to develop the potential and skills of MBPK students through a comprehensive and inclusive educational approach. With the support of TASK, the programme, involving 25 MBPK students, was held at KEDA Resort Bendang Man and Kolej KEDA, Sik, on 9–10 September 2024.

 

The programme featured a variety of activities, including the KEDA College Fabric Workshop, visits to the Skills Training Workshops at Kolej KEDA Sik, a Job Profiling and Career Readiness Workshop conducted by PERKESO, visits to the Automotive and Welding Workshops, as well as a briefing on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

 

The collaboration between TASK and JPNK ensures that MBPK students not only have access to quality technical education but are also exposed to employability opportunities that will help them become more competitive in the workforce.

 

TASK and JPNK are also committed to raising public and stakeholder awareness of the capabilities and potential of MBPK students through inclusive programmes such as this. This collaboration represents an important step towards developing well-rounded MBPK human capital that is not only equipped with technical skills but also guided by strong values, character, and integrity.

 

Certificates of Participation were presented to the participants by Tuan Haji Ismail bin Othman, Director of the Kedah State Education Department.
